Our Services

Before your procedure, we will meet you either at our clinic or upon admission to the hospital, where we will:

  • Collect your medical history, medications, allergies, etc.

  • Evaluate your suitability for surgery and anaesthesia.

  • Understand your specific care preferences and concerns.

  • Discuss the potential risks and benefits of various anaesthesia techniques.

  • Develop a plan for your post-operative care and pain management.

  • Address any questions or concerns you may have.

  • Obtain your informed consent.

Depending on the nature of your surgery or procedure, you may experience different levels of consciousness during anaesthesia, such as deep sleep (general anaesthesia), numbness while awake (local, regional, or spinal anaesthesia), or sedation. Your anaesthetist will discuss these options with you and your family, if desired, to determine the most suitable approach.

Throughout your anaesthesia, we will closely monitor your condition for safety. Afterward, our team of specialist nurses will provide careful supervision during your recovery.

Anaesthetists also play a vital role in emergency care for critically ill patients throughout the hospital. Additionally, some of our team members specialise in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) care.

As experts in pain management, our department operates the Acute Pain Service, supporting medical staff in treating post-operative and injured patients on the wards. Furthermore, certain anaesthetists are trained in the specialised management of Chronic Pain, utilising their expertise to assist patients dealing with long-term pain conditions.
